Very excited to announce my Performing Arts Camp happening this summer. It’s the first time I’m putting one together and am looking forward to fun filled weeks of music theory, sightsinging, performance techniques, and etc for children ages 7-17. If any of you are in the Villa Rica, GA or surrounding areas, you don’t want to miss this. Campers will perform every Friday with solos, duets, and choir performances. Congratulations.  You’re at the point in your career where you’re doing shows, maybe selling CD’s and merchandise, and your fan base is growing.  Now, you want to book more shows, have paid shows, get on radio, etc.  Well, you need a press kit.  It usually contains your bio, pics, links, and live video footage.  You don’t have to spend tons of money to put it together, but you want to ensure that it’s professional.  After all, you do take your career seriously....right?  Once you have it done, venue owners will decide on initially booking you based on this.  Also, you could land your spot in a radio station if the press kit is well put together and stands out from the crowd.  So, be sure to take time in putting together an excellent press kit.  It’s your GOLDEN TICKET!

Dynamics can do wonders for a song.  Today, we’ll specifically focus on what it means to crescendo.  It’s a gradual increase in the volume or intensity of a sound.  It helps to phrase the lines.  It’s good to utilize during long notes.  Specifically, if a note last longer than 2 beats.  Reason being is because long notes that are the same get boring.  Grant it, it’s beautiful when a singer can hold a note, but one long note at the same level, not so beautiful.  So, here’s another technique for your vocal arsenal!
